We Sponsor SEASPAR Aktion Club
The Kiwanis Club of Woodridge and SEASPAR sponsor Aktion Club. SEASPAR is an organization that offers a wide variety of therapeutic recreation programs and services for all ages and all disabilities. Eric Alwin, President, regularly attends Aktion Club meetings and special events to work with SEASPAR representatives.
Adopt-A-Highway
Since 2022, our club has signed up with the Adopt-A-Highway program sponsored by DuPage County to help keep the roadsides neat. We are responsible for picking up trash on a mile stretch of road along 75th St in Woodridge four times between April and October. This service project gives us an opportunity to contribute to our community while we socialize with our fellow members.
Helping to Solve Hunger
Other service projects our club participated in involved assisting with food distribution at the West Suburban Community Pantry in Woodridge and repackaging food at the Northern Illinois Food Bank which serves DuPage County and surrounding counties.
Helping Neighbors Affected by Fire
In November 2020 our club made a donation to assist a local family whose residence was destroyed by fire.
