Kiwanis Club of Woodridge participates in service projects that benefit children. Recent projects involved working at local food banks and collecting food for the Woodridge Food Pantry.
2009 Fall Woodridge Community Pantry Assistance
Woodridge Community Pantry requested our participation in their Harvest Sunday Food Collection November 7-8 to leave flyers on doors the first day and/or pick up donations on doorsteps the next day. Club representatives worked on November 8 to gather food left on doorsteps.
2009 Memorial Day Parade
Pariticipated in the Woodridge Memorial Day Parade on June 25th celebrating the 50th anniversary for the village. Eric Alwin drove his old-time car in the parade while peanuts were distributed by Key Clubbers.
May 2009 Woodridge Post Office Food Drive
Volunteers from our club participated in the Woodridge Post Office Food Drive on Saturday morning, May 9 to pick up food at residences and mailboxes.
February 2009 at Northern Illinois Food Bank
In the morning on Saturday, February 7, in 2009 the Northern Illinois Food Bank at 600 Industrial Drive in St. Charles our volunteers assisted with product processing and food sorting. A volunteer captured some pictures of those working that day.
