Northern Illinois Food Bank Service Project - February 21, 2012

Kiwanis Club of Woodridge members at the Northern Illinois Food Bank Members and friends of the Kiwanis Club of Woodridge worked at the Northern Illinois Food Bank (NIFB) warehouse in Geneva sorting and packing food for shipment to be distributed to food pantries in this state. By volunteering at this facility, we helped the NIFB prepare food for distribution to hungry families in northern Illinois.

Feed My Starving Children Service Project - January 9, 2012

Several members and friends of the Kiwanis Club of Woodridge volunteered at the Aurora site for the Feed My Starving Children non-profit on Monday evening, January 9, to bag highly nutritious, dried food for shipment to Haiti. Dried vegetables, soy, rice, and supplements were measured and weighed in individual-sized bags and then sealed and packed for shipment. This organization relies on its volunteers to provide funding to buy the food packaged by future volunteers. More information about Feed My Starving Children can be accessed at fmsc.org.

2011 November Service Project at West Suburban Community Pantry

Members of the Kiwanis Club of Woodridge worked at the pantry in Woodridge on November 19 distributing food to 102 families.

2011 May Letter Carrier Food Drive Service Project

The club participated in the Woodridge Post Office Letter Carrier Food Drive project on Saturday morning, May 14. Food was collected from homes in Woodridge and taken to the West Surburban Community Food Pantry for distribution to those in need.

2011 Spring Volunteer Project at West Suburban Community Pantry

Members of the club worked Saturday morning from 8:15 am to 12:15 pm on March 19 to assist the West Suburban Community Pantry distribute food to its clients. Our volunteers enjoyed working with the pantry and other volunteers to serve the clients in need of food and felt our time was appreciated.
